Final Ratchet The Dog Update.

October 23, 2008

The saga of Ratchet The Dog has reached its happy conclusion.

Pat Beberg greets Ratchet, a dog rescued in Iraq by her daughter, Minnesota soldier Spc. Gwen Beberg, at the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008. The dog, which promptly went to sleep after the flight, will await Beberg’s return from duty. Ratchet began his journey to the Twin Cities after being transported from Iraq to Kuwait with the help of the SPCA’s Operation Baghdad Pups. On Monday, October 20, Ratchet flew from Kuwait to Amsterdam and then on to Washington, D.C. where he was given his initial veterinary exam. With a clean bill of health and his first set of vaccinations, Ratchet arrived with Terri Crisp, program manager of Operation Baghdad Pups, a rescue program run by Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals International.
